Mortfest 2003

On 8.30.03 in New Brunswick we had a music and art party.  We called it Mortfest, a reference to a setting in a John Waters film.  Three NJ bands of friends and many visual artists participated.  The three bands were Human Adult Band, Dogo & Crackerjacks and Magnet City Kids.  Dogo played avant sludge (Mortfest set CDr released on d.i.h.d. records in around 2005).  Magnet City Kids, whom eventually became a Philly band, played an upbeat noisy jazz punk.  Portions of Human Adult Band's set is available in the digital realm at the player below. The full set (replete with all bloopers & ragers) is also available as a disc from the d.i.h.d. link below.  As for the visual artists that night, they hung their work on the walls of the kitchen and living room and sold their wares (paintings, postcards etc).  It was a very good vibe with breaded tofu dinner, bottles of wine and beer.
